I have been an Occupational Therapist for over 16 years and understand how important the everyday challenges are for people living with dementia. I work with people living with dementia and their families to overcome or manage these challenges. Offering a wide range of services from equipment and housing advise to providing therapeutic support and enabling person-centred care planning for the future. In addition to these services, I have a personal and professional interest in promoting health and well-being through connectedness with nature. Using outdoor and nature based therapies to support health and well-being.
In my capacity as a university academic and researcher, I am an honorary research fellow of the Centre for Sport, Exercise and Life Science's at Coventry University. I am also an Approved Assessor for the Royal College of Occupational Therapists, and a Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have considerable teaching experience as a senior academic, working at several universities in the UK, with expertise in developing, designing, delivering, and evaluating courses at BSc, MSc and professional CPD level. I also have a particular interest in blended learning and online pedagogy.
